TATTOOS
A tattoo is basically a wound, and like any wound it needs time to heal. To ensure that it doesn’t get infected and to keep it looking sharp and vibrant please do the following…
When you leave the studio
- Wait 2 or 3 hours before removing the bandage
- Wash the tattoo carefully with drinking water and a mild soap (do not use Savlon or Dettol)
- Pat dry
- Apply a thin layer of Soframycin cream or Silverex. Use only a small amount.
For the first 3 days
- Use the Soframycin or Silverex at least 3 times a day.
- Clean the tattoo before every application
After the third day
- Start applying baby oil or coconut oil. Never let the tattoo dry.
- Keep this up for the next couple of weeks.
Till the tattoo has healed… DO NOT!
- Use body creams or perfumed lotions
- Swim, work out at the gym, or use a sauna
- Expose the tattoo to the sun (definitely no tanning). Sunburn on a fresh tattoo can cause severe irritation and allergy.
- Pick, scratch or ‘help’ the scab to come off
Showers are fine; just remember to use a mild soap.
BODY PIERCINGS
Avoid unecessarily pulling, twisting or fiddling the studs, rings etc.
